SIGNPOSTS by Raphael ben Levi

“You make me know the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy, in your right hand eternal delight.” (Ps.16:11)

Buried within the heart of every person lies a deep longing to savour the abundance that comes from walking in God’s pathways. In this Psalm, we discover God’s express desire for us to pause long enough to read His signposts and follow in His ways. Though at times we may stumble, we will not be utterly cast down for He promises to hold us in the palm of His hands. (Ps. 37:24)

Do you remember times when you have experienced His Divine presence, and at that moment you were filled with His all-sufficiency where everything else paled into insignificance? Of course, we cannot live our entire life upon the mountain tops although the thought is appealing! Still, Heaven is beckoning and every attraction in this world is dull and routine compared to the eternal reward that awaits us! The apostle Paul wrote, “7…whatever I used to count as my greatest accomplishments, I’ve written them off as a loss because of the Anointed One. 8 And more so, I now realise that all I gained and thought was important was nothing but yesterday’s garbage compared to knowing the Anointed Jesus my Lord. For Him I have thrown everything aside—it’s nothing but a pile of waste—so that I may gain Him.” (Phil.3:7-8 Voice)

The world is filled with mirrors and smokescreens that invariably lead to disappointment. But, His grace is sufficient for His strength is made perfect in weakness, so we confidently place our trust in Him. In the fullness of time it will bear a reward that will never disappoint!
