Weekly Devotions 371 – My Light and My Salvation

MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION by Raphael ben Levi

Trouble is not a stranger for the majority of people with the sheer scale and intensity of events descending with terrifying suddenness and vicious brutality. But in Ps.27 God provides us with an amazing promise: “For he will conceal me in his shelter on the day of trouble; he will hide me in the folds of his tent, he will set me on a rock.” (v5)

The ‘day of trouble’ may come as an uninvited guest but the tender, unfathomable riches of God’s love is also a profound reality. This is our victory against the demonic realm; our fiercest response in the darkest of times. God’s promises are unswerving, be it a crisis or a God-moment: in darkness of soul or transformation: amid the shadows, or the corridors of glory.

God is my Light and my Salvation, transcending the beauty of words – my all-sufficiency!“ So what should we say? If God is with us, no one can defeat us! Can anything separate me from the love Christ? Can troubles or problems or sufferings or hunger or nakedness or danger or violent death? Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:31,35-36, 38-39)
