“But those who hope in Adonai (or,’wait upon the Lord’) will renew their strength, they will soar aloft with eagles’ wings; when they are running they won’t grow weary, when they are walking they won’t get tired.” Isai. 40;31
Are you being faced today with insurmountable challenges and impossible situations? The word in Hebrew translated into english as “hope” is “kovye” ( קֹויֵ֤).
“Kovye” has a literal and figurative meaning. In the literal sense, it means, “to bind together like a cord” Figuratively, “kovye” offers the sense of confidence in something that is substantial and unlimited. Scripture defines it as a “sure hope” and an anchor for our souls Heb 6:19. It is entirely set apart from a set of ideas or propositions, or something tenuous, or worse still, a flight of fancy. Rather, it is rooted in a truth and reality that is experienced in measure to the extent we embrace its fullness. To this end, God invites us to “taste and see” that He is good rather than to watch from afar – to participate rather than spectate.
So, renew your strength today and soar above your circumstances or cloudy entanglements that keep you earth-bound. Now is the moment to renew your “kovye” hope in the One who is faithful, true and whose love is forever steadfast.
