“In fact, whatever you ask for in My (Jesus’) name I will do; so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask for something in My name, I will do it. If you love Me you will obey My commands (instructions).” [John 14: 3-15]

Many times, believers shy away from this amazing promise after seeing it taken out of context, crudely misconstrued or simply due to false humility.

What are the conditions? Jesus put it succinctly with our heart motives being at the core:

“…that My Father will be glorified,” and
“If you love Me, you will obey My commands.”
The corollary can be found in the Psalm of David:

“Trust in Adonai and do good….and feed on faithfulness. Delight yourself in Adonai and He will give you your heart’s desire.” (37: 3-4)

Paraphrased, this could almost be construed as a tautology:

“Delight yourself in Adonai and He will give you the desire of your heart which is to delight yourself in Him!” What greater thing could compare than this?”

When we place our full trust in God, His thoughts are upon the very air we breathe as His presence permeates our lives.

Adonai’s promise for us is unswerving in every circumstance; in the good, the bad and the ugly; in a crisis and in a God-moment, in restoration and transformation, darkness of soul and epiphany, shadows and fullness of glory.

Truly He deserves every vestige of praise and worship, every fibre of thanksgiving as expressed in the totality of our lives lived unto Him! Our confidence in Him is unshakeable! We are bold and strong, for we know Who we serve!
