Weekly Devotions 378 – Hanukah – Day 6 – Choices

CHOICES by Raphael ben Levi

The world constantly vies for our attention with allurements that can so easily suck us into black holes of darkness and unfulfilled dreams. Scripture warns us to guard against such things and never flirt with Satan’s playground of delights for it’s a tightrope with no safety net to break our fall.

While there are consequences for the choices we make, God’s love for us remains constant. He takes us in His arms with infinite compassion, tenderness and enfolds us in His embrace even when we present Him with only the scraps under the table or maybe less; this is a deeply humbling thought.

At Hanukah, we display the candlestick in the most visible and public place for all to see as we celebrate the miracle of His redemption. We are reminded that we are not our own but were bought at a price that only Divine love could afford, something that should always guide our thoughts and actions.
